AIR COOLED SCROLL CHILLER

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

Air-Cooled Scroll Chillers provide chilled water for all air conditioning applications using central station air handling units or terminal units. They are completely self-contained and are designed for outdoor (roof or ground level) installation. Each unit includes hermetic scroll compressors, a liquid evaporator, air cooled condenser, and a weather proof microprocessor control center, all mounted on a formed steel base.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The 20-135 Ton UCA Models are shipped complete from the factory ready for installation and use.

The unit is pressure-tested, evacuated, and fully charged with R22 or optional R-407C and includes an initial oil charge. After assembly, a complete operational test is performed to ensure that the refrigeration circuit operates correctly.

COMPRESSORS

Single speed winding, scroll compressor of fully sealed hermetic type, equipped with suction vapor cooled windings, crankcase heater and internal line break motor protection. Besides that, the integration of a set of high and low pressure switches in the unit provides better protection to the compressor, prolonging the compressor life span.

EVAPORATOR

Direct expansion type with refrigerant inside high efficiency copper tubes, chilled liquid forced over the tubes by galvanized steel baffles. Constructed and tested for maximum 225 PSIG (15.5 bar) refrigerant side design working pressure and 150 PSIG (10 bar) water side design working pressure.

CONDENSER COILS

The air-cooled condenser coils shall consists of 3/8” OD, inner-grooved seamless copper tubes arranged in staggered rows. They are mechanically expanded into die-formed aluminium condenser fin coil to provide optimum heat exchange capability. All coils are pressure tested to withstand 450 psig during production stage. Optional to change to Water Cooled Condenser LCW model.

FANS

The condenser fans are designed for maximum efficiency and are statically and dynamically balanced for vibration-free operation. They are directly driven by independent motors, and positioned for vertical air discharge.

FAN MOTORS

The fan motors shall be of TEFC Squirrel-cage type. They feature ball bearings that are double-sealed and permanently lubricated. Optional external rotor fan.

POWER PANEL

Rain tight, powder coated steel cabinets with hinged, latched and gasket sealed outer doors. Provide main power connection(s), control power connections, compressor and fan motor start contactors, current overloads, and factory wiring.

CONTROL CENTRE

All controls are contained in a weather proof cabinet with hinged outer doors and include:

a) Programmable Set-points (within Manufacturer limits)

b) Display Data.

c) System Safety.

d) Unit Safety.

e) Alarm Contacts.

OPTIONS AND ACCESSORIES

  1. Single Point Power Supply - Single point Terminal Block for field connection and interconnecting wiring to the compressors
  2. Single Point Circuit Breaker - Single point Terminal Block with Circuit Breaker can be supplied to isolate power voltage for servicing
  3. Low Temperature Process Brine - Leaving chilled liquid setpoint range 20°F to 55°F
  4. Pressure Tranducers and Readout Capability - Discharge Pressure Tranducers : Permits unit to sense and display discharge pressure
  5. Heresite / Epoxy Coating Condenser Coil
  6. Copper Fin / Hydrophilic Fin Condenser Coil
  7. Protective Grille for condenser coil
  8. 1 inch or 2 inches Deflection Spring Isolators
  9. Power Factor Correction Capacitors - Provided to correct unit compressor factor to a 0.90 - 0.95
